The voting record is evidence of what a councilor values.
This graphic shows which councillors in the 2016-2020 term supported the development of the Noosa 2020 planning scheme.
The Planning Scheme contained a host of changes responding to community needs, including new provisions to restrict the spread of STAs through residential neighbourhoods.
It also indicates who supported the development of Queensland’s first Local Law to manage the impacts of STAs on neighbours.
They will also show who supported the principle that commercial lease holders ought to not encroach on public land, who supported environmental projects and who voted to refuse over-scale development.
I take my responsibility as a community advocate seriously. I voted as indicated in response to the community’s calls for action on these issues.
Unfortunately, some continue to falsely claim lopsided voting patterns indicate a bullying, gender-based voting block.
Council decisions are not about any one councillor. They’re always about the issue and the community. Disagreement in debate is not bullying.
Fortunately, we have the evidence of live streamed recordings supporting this also.
